MNP Complaints

News Home Page Sunday 20 September 2015

MNP.in have had a large number of customers contacting us explaining that after requesting their unique porting code (UPC) they were not sent it by their mobile phone operator. A significant number of these customers then contacted the mobile phone operator only to be face with an employee attempting to persuade the customer not to port. In some cases, the line dropped after the customer refused to stay with the operator.

If you request your unique porting code (UPC) as per the MNP process then the operator is obliged to supply the UPC, so long as you have been with the operator for at least 90 days and you have paid all of your bills up to date.

TRAI will fine those operators that do not comply with the MNP process. Therefore, customers are urged to complain to TRAI if they experience problems with the MNP process.
